What is the best wheel and pedal system to use with the SST shifter?

The SST will work with any wheel & pedal system on the market. We highly recommend the ECCI Trackstar 6000 racing system as the best companion for the SST shifter.

 

What kind of shift pattern does the SST have?

The SST shift gate is a true straight H pattern with 8 positions.

 

What engages the gear positions and how?

The SST uses 8 micro switches and a USB chip. The switches are engaged while in gear and release in neutral.

 

Can the shift knob be removed and changed for another type?

Yes you can change the knob to any type that fits the shaft size 5/16 x 18tpi or with an adapter.

 

Are there any wearable part that require service or replacement?

The SST does not need any type of maintenance or have wearable parts that need replacement. However, we did design the shifter so that all the parts are easily replaceable.

 

Is the SST shifter meant to feel like a real H shifter in a real car?

The SST does not require the physical force needed to shift a real race car. It does simulate the real H pattern shifter functionality.

 

Are there any current or future plans to make a sequential type shifter?

No, we do not plan to make a sequential version at this time.

 

Does an H shifter really lower your lap times?

Absolutely! No matter what other manufacturers claim, no sequential, inline or paddle shifter will be as fast as an H shifter for changing gears.
